Jackie Simons is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Hadley, MA (currently residing in Flushing, NY). She has released eleven solo recordings to date, covering a diverse range of styles. Enamored with multi-layered pop and avant-garde experimentalism, Simons’ music often veers between the two, sometimes within the same song.

I had a dream many years ago that my high school concert band and chorus joined together during a winter concert to perform a seasonal rendition of “Rock ’n’ Roll High School” by the Ramones. All the instrumental and vocal parts were drifting and it sorta sounded like twentieth century classical music. Halfway through the performance, the older members of the audience began throwing up. Then kids in the band started to throw up as well. This prompted my band director to shout “no, don’t throw up there!!”
